Sign Up Now to Participate in Scouting for Food Good Turn Project

On February 2 and 9, 2019, Scouts throughout the Westark Area Council will help make a difference to fight hunger. Scouting for Food is the leading service program for Boy Scouts of America and is a part of the national BSA program - Good Turn for America. In partnership with the Harps Food Stores, News, and HOG Radio Group, this council-wide service project begins Saturday, February 2, 2019 as Scouts distribute bags in their neighborhoods to announce the upcoming food drive. Scouts return the following Saturday, February 9, 2019, to pick up and deliver donations to their local food banks and pantries.

In addition, Harps Food Stores will provide an opportunity for Scouts to collect food at their stores on February 9.  Harps Food Stores has 37 locations in our 17 counties.

How Can Your Unit Help Make a Difference?

 1.  Let us know you want to participate.  Sign up at your  December or January Roundtable, contact your District Executive, or register online at by clicking here:http://www.westarkbsa.org/Event.aspx?id=4152

2.  Pick up your Scouting for Food bags from your District Executive in late January.

Please report:

  • Organization that benefited from the project.

*Please remember: Units must report service project results to both council and on the Journey to Excellence (JTE) website.
