Cub Scout Family Camp Is Almost Here

With Spring comes Cub Scout Camping. Your Cub Scout and family have the great opportunity to experience either of two of our great council camps - Camp Orr High Adventure Base or Rogers Scout Reservation - as they participate in our Cub Scout Family Camp.

Every Scouter must complete updated Youth Protection training by Oct. 1, 2018

The BSA has announced bold, wide-ranging updates to its Youth Protection program as part of an ongoing effort to protect young people from child abuse. This starts with an enhanced online Youth Protection training course all volunteers and professionals must complete. You have until Oct. 1, 2018, to do so.

Bigger, better BALOO training for Cub Scout leaders

Longtime trainers Matt Markham and Jessi King-Markham found that volunteers who willingly attended Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation to learn to take their Cub Scouts camping often balked at signing up for Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders (often referred to as “OWLS”).

What is the 24th World Scout Jamboree?

The World Scout Jamboree is the largest camping event organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement, gathering as many as 50,000 Scouts and leaders from 169 National Scout Organizations. The 24th World Scout Jamboree is co‐hosted by Scouts Canada, Association de Scouts de Mexico and the Boy Scouts of America. The last time the United States hosted a WSJ was in 1967 in Idaho.
